Meet The 2016 Cast

Dan Nassimbene

Jesus
This role is Dan’s seventh opportunity to perform onstage.  Dan has played Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar  (2008), Priest 3 in Jesus Christ Superstar (2014), Peter in Resurrection, Jimmy “the bar owner / chorus in White Christmas  (2013), Uncle Henry in Wizard of Oz and chorus minor roles in Fiddler on the Roof . He loves the challenge and joy that theater places in his life; and the friendships and fellowship he has developed in each opportunity.  

Starci Scheffler

Starci is eighteen years old and will be graduating this June. She is #5 of ten children and has been homeschooled her entire life. Starci has been involved in dance and theatre since a very young age and has enjoyed putting her talents to use in this production. Starci is also looking forward to Sunrise Players' production of Peter Pan, where she will be playing the title role. In her free time Starci enjoys baking, reading, writing, playing harp, and singing wherever and whenever she can.

Robert is pleased to be a part of this play after having worked with Stephanie Scheffler and her family in several productions by the Sunrise Players. You may have seen Robert on the stages of the FAC, PPC, PPCC, Calvary Church and Sunrise Church or not seen him behind the scenes in many productions over the past eighteen years. During that time he has enjoyed being a part of over 50 productions with many talented casts such as this one. Thank you Stephanie and Meridian Point Church.  Robert sends a special Aloha to his favorite fan.

Liesl Baart

Liesl is no stranger to performing, but most often from behind the scenes or on a musical instrument, and during 8 years of marching band in high school/college. She loves to sing in the car and the shower and has occasionally sung on worship teams and choirs. Liesl loves avocados, french fries, and popcorn; thunderstorms, snowstorms and gorgeous Colorado sunsets; board games, reading and photography. She is excited for her first on-stage role and thanks MPC, Stephanie and the cast for their hard work. All praise and glory be to the Name Above Every Name! Thanks for coming!

Hi, I'm Rachel Bower, I'm 13 years old and I'm 
currently "cottage schooled" (which means I go to school one day a week and then I'm homeschooled for the rest). I love listening to Francesca Battistelli, Twenty Øne Piløts, and Newworldson. In my spare time, I enjoy watching Doctor Who and reading.
My favorite color is purple and I love animals, 
especially horses. I've been acting for about 4 years. I've been in multiple musicals at Meridian Point Church, and have also taken many acting and musical classes from the Academy of Children's Theater.

Dave Cook

Dave is thrilled to be a part of this inspirational play. He is honored to participate and to help spread the message of our Risen Lord!!
Dave has had the privilege to be on the stage over the last couple years with the Sunrise Players in the roles of Oz/Professor Marvel in The Wizard of Oz, Coggins/Inventor #4/Under study to Grandpa in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and has recently been cast as Captain Hook in the upcoming production of Peter Pan.  (Quick plug:  Come see Peter Pan at Sunrise Methodist Church April 7 - 10!)  
He hopes you enjoy the show and that you find your personal way to be closer to Christ along your faith journey.  Happy Easter!!!

Judy received her degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1992.  She recently retired as a partner in a local accounting firm in Southern California.  She presently resides in Falcon, Colorado with her husband and 8 year old son Tyler.  
Her hobbies are skiing, photography and training the family dog Blue.

Phillip is from right here in Falcon. He, along with his wife Liz, have lived in Colorado for 46 years - he calls himself an " honorary native."  He just discovered Christian theater and acting about 8 years ago with Sunrise Players from Sunrise Methodist Church. He has enjoyed getting to play a variety of different roles but mostly enjoys serving the Lord in this unique way.

Liz Estrada

Liz is from right here in Falcon, but has lived in Colorado for 46 years. She along with her husband Phil, have been involved in Sunrise Players in Colorado Springs for about 8 years. She is delighted to be helping Stephanie with this debut performance and hopes you enjoy it and that you will be reminded of all that Jesus did for us - He is risen !!

Kenna Fields is an awesome twelve year old! She loves music, movies, and theater. Kenna has been a fan of theater since she was a little girl. She has attended many productions. including: Comedy, Musicals, and Dramas, and has truly enjoyed her experience at most of them. 
Kenna performed for the first time this past Christmas in "A Fistful of Christmas" as a part of the kids' program at Meridian Point Church.
Risen is her first major performance.

Angelo Galasso

Angelo is homeschooled and he loves participating in Upwards Basketball. He has lots of energy but can often be found curled up on his bed or the couch reading. Some of his favorite books are:
The I Survived Series, Garfield, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Star has a very outgoing personality. She has a big heart for God and is state representative for Celebrate Recovery. She spends a large amount of time homeschooling her son Angelo. She is a wonderful wife, and  excellent homemaker.
Some of her hobbies include shooting guns, and fellowshiping with friends and family.

Steve Gardner

I have been privileged to be in a number of theatrical productions including Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, andThe Wizard of OZ.
I've enjoyed every one of them.
I am portraying the Disciple Andrew in a recurring production of The Living Last Supper this year for what (I think) will be the twenty eighth year. I am honored to have been approached by the Scheffler family to portray Seriah in this production of RISEN
It is my prayer that all who participate in, and all who attend these productions, will be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit as we celebrate Easter this year.

Matt Hawkins is a homeschooled 5th grader who attends Rocky Mountain Classical Academy one day a week. 
 
"I like Basketball, Soccer, snow sports and Legos.
I have been in three Christmas Plays at Meridian Point Church and two musicals at my school.  I also enjoy playing the piano.  I attend Meridian Point Church and have done so for about 5 years. I volunteer in the preschool with my mom and the church cafe' with my dad."

Hi I'm Brandon. I'm part of the crowd and in some of the musical numbers. I love Jesus and reading Bible stories. Some of my favorite things to do are play outside and lifting weights. Playing with my brother is my most favorite thing to do.

Hope Johnson

Hope is proud to be part of the cast for Risen. She has been in a couple different plays at Falcon Middle School and ACT (Academy of Children's Theater), beginning with Annie as an orphan/chorus member. She has also played a part in Snow White and Surviving Gilly's Island. Hope has been going to Meridian Point Church for a year and volunteers with preschool every month. She would like to thank her mom, and dad for encouraging her to do what she loves on stage.

Some things I like are legos, music, my muscles, eating and dancing. I like being in plays and talking.
I love Jesus and I hate the devil. I enjoy reading the Bible and praying a lot. I'm glad all of you could make it to the play.

Alyson, 8, is in 3rd grade. She is the younger sister to her brother, Jonathan. Alyson has a compassionate heart beyond her years. Alyson radiates independence, leadership, and a nurturing heart.
Alyson enjoys creative art projects, playing basketball, going camping, riding her four-wheeler, and being a prideful Girl Scout.
She has been performing on stage since 2011. Alyson has procured the roles of a chorus member, a historian, a jungle monkey, and Santa’s elf in her school’s musical performances.
Alyson is thrilled be a part of such a powerful production, “Risen.”

Tommy Long

I was on the stage many times in high school.  I performed in the UIL One Act Play every year and portrayed characters from a baby in a carriage ( Infancy ) to an old, balding man in my senior year.  
In addition to acting, I was in the Boles Home “Bel Canto” Chorale a-cappella  singing group where I sang bass and traveled across the state of Texas singing and representing Boles Children’s Home. After high school, I was a cheerleader at my university for 3 years and enjoyed being in front of the crowds at the sporting events where we cheered on the ETSU Lions! 
 
Now, I play bass guitar at Meridian Point Church and enjoy praising God with my mind, body, and soul.  
I look forward to my part in this production of Risen and I hope we can move those who attend the performance.

Kelsey Morris, is privileged to work with this amazing cast! Kelsey loves theater, animals, and hanging out with her friends. She is a sophomore at Falcon High School and volunteers at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo during the summer. Kelsey has been going to Meridian Point Church for about 7 years, volunteers with the pre-k ministry and helps take care of Phoenix, the church cat.

Adam Scheffler

Adam is the youngest of the ten Scheffler kids. He is home schooled, in the 2nd grade and 8 years old. 
Adam just started taking piano lessons and is also involved in gymnastics and an acting group called, "Sunrise Players."Adam has performed with Sunrise players in Wizard of Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Peter Pan. Adam has performed in The Nutcracker at The Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs along with 7 of his siblings. He has also played the role of Fritz in another version of The Nutcracker. Although Adam is bashful, he loves performing as long as his siblings are there to encourage and support him.  Adam is pretty excited about being able to use what he has learned in gymnastics on stage.

Alea is in 9th grade, 15 years old and #7 out of the 10 kids in her family.  She has taken dance for 12 years and does many different styles. She is currently doing Ballet, Irish, Tap, Jazz and Pointe.  Alea also does gymnastics and can play the piano.  She is very excited to be in Risen and loves her parts especially Levi, he is a very fun role. Alea has been in numerous shows and has a lot of fun doing them. She hopes this show will bless you and keep you smiling for days.  

Christopher Scheffler

Christopher has enjoyed stage acting for the past 3 years. He has taken Musical Theatre for one year and Ballroom for three years at Turning Pointe Dance.
He has appeared in The Nutcracker at the Pikes Peak Center (November 2013- November 2015), as well as White Christmas (December 2013); Jesus Christ Superstar (March 2014); and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (November 2015) at Sunrise Church. When he's not on stage plotting against Jesus, he reads; works in MPC's cafe; and delivers shipments for his family's business, Pricom Design. He looks forward to performing in this awesome Easter show! Amen!

Faith Scheffler

Faith is ninth of the ten Scheffler kids. She is home schooled and in the 6th grade. Faith has been dancing Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Irish, Musical Theatre and Worship since she was five. She's performed in various Nutcracker Ballets and Christmas pageants. She has been playing the piano since 2010.
Faith's debut performance on stage was with Sunrise Players when she was cast in Jesus Christ Superstar.  Since then she has been hooked on performing with them.  She was also cast in Sunrise Players production of Wizard of Oz and Fiddler on the Roof, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Peter Pan. Faith is very excited to be playing the role of Elizabeth in this production of, Risen!

Isaac Scheffler

Isaac is the 6th and the greatest, awesome, interesting, coolest, stupendously, terrific, most extraordinary of the ten Scheffler kids. Isaac is a home schooled sophomore and is no stranger to the stage. Isaac was cast in Sunrise Players production of Jesus Christ Superstar, Wizard of Oz,  Fiddler on the Roof and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He has also performed in The Nutcracker at The Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. Isaac is thrilled about being part of this production of Risen. He has put all other activities on hold in order to be supportive of his sister.  When he is not acting he stays busy being Home schooled, playing his cello, practicing his archery skills and working part time at Pricom Design.

Kevin is thrilled to be a part of the RISEN cast. Kevin has been in many Theatrical Productions
From Fiddler on the Roof to The Wizard of Oz.
Although Judas is seen as the bad guy of the story he is still necessary to the story and the outcome.
God uses all people for His plan and His story.
 
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us all from sin.

Samuel Scheffler

Samuel is the eighth of the ten Scheffler kids. He is home schooled and in 7th grade. Samuel made his debut performance on stage with Sunrise Players in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . He also made his dancing debut performance in The Nutcracker Thanksgiving weekend at The Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. Samuel has performed in various Christmas pageants and also enjoys playing the harp. Samuel is proud and honored to be portraying the part of John in this production of, Risen!!!  When he is not busy at school he is a master with building and designing Lego creations.

Lynn Stone has performed in a number of productions, including "Hot Mikado", "Seussical", "Oklahoma",  "My Fair Lady", "Children of Eden", "Moses-A Prince of Egypt" and "Summer Shenanigans - 2012, 2013, 2014", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "White Christmas", "Jesus Christ Super-Star", "Wizard of Oz", "Fiddler On the Roof", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang".

Hospice is truly a place of miracles, of which Lynn is humbled and honored to be a part.

Jackson Swift

Jackson will be 13 in April and is excited to be performing in this show with his dad (Jeff) and best friend (Samuel). Jackson attends RMCA as a seventh grader, where his favorite subject is Latin.
Jackson has participated in many church Christmas plays. He has been going to MPC for 9 years and used to play Upwards Basketball. His hobbies include drawing, programming computers, eating and sleeping. When not at school, or home, Jackson can often be found at the Scheffler's house where he is just like one of the family!

Jeff Swift

Jeff Swift, the Big Roman Soldier and Solomon, prefers to handle things behind the scenes, but he is glad to be spreading God’s message in RISEN. 
This is his first play, and first time acting, as you might recognize on your own.  When Jeff isn’t playing a Roman soldier, he is a software engineer and avid shade-tree mechanic.  Jeff has been a part of the Meridian Point Church congregation for over 9 years and enjoys serving in the MPC worship department, running the soundboard a couple times a month.  He looks forward to serving in a new capacity spreading the Good News, on the stage.
